Dubai Lankan sports club founded by Ramsi Al Dakkak. The Club has grown from a small group of passionate players into a formidable force in the rugby world. In its early years, the club welcomed players from diverse backgrounds.
Dubai Lankans secured a prestigious sponsorship from Samurai Sports, joining the ranks of South Africa A team and England National Women's A team.
After a silence of few years, the club was revitalized under the leadership of Mark Kirby and set the stage for future victories.

The Dubai Lankans Rugby club made a notable impact at the 2024 Dubai 7s by fielding three teams across different divisions: the Gulf Men's open, Gulf Men's social and the Vets. All teams were composed exclusively of Sri Lankan players residing in Dubai, showcasing the club's strong sense of community and dedication to representing their heritage.

Mark Kirby has been the driving force behind the revival and continued success of the Dubai Lankans Sports Club since 2016. With his visionary leadership, the club has transformed into one of the most respected rugby organizations in the region.
As President, Mark brings over two decades of experience in sports management and a deep passion for rugby. His professional expertise as a top executive at One&Only Resorts Kerzner International complements his role at the club, where he has implemented strategic initiatives that have elevated both the competitive performance and community presence of Dubai Lankans.
Under his guidance, the club has achieved numerous tournament victories while also expanding its youth development programs and community outreach efforts. Mark is particularly passionate about creating opportunities for Sri Lankan players who have relocated to Dubai, helping them maintain their connection to the sport and their cultural heritage.
We are dedicated to nurturing young talent and fostering a love for the sport of rugby. Our mission is to support rugby players who have moved from Sri Lanka to Dubai, helping them overcome the challenges of relocation while keeping their passion for the game alive.
